Ansonia High School
The Ansonia High School cheerleading team has won three consecutive state championships in the last three years.
ANSONIA – The Ansonia High School Cheerleading Team has achieved remarkable success, securing its third consecutive state championship in both the Class S and Class M divisions and defending its New England title. Over the past five seasons, under the leadership of Coach Jenn McGeough, the team has earned three state championships, a third-place state finish, and a New England championship.
The 2025 CIAC Class M Cheerleading Championships, held on March 1, 2025, saw the Ansonia Chargers clinch the title, marking their third consecutive state championship. This achievement highlights the team’s consistent excellence and dedication to the sport. In addition to their state success, the Chargers have also excelled on the regional stage.
They are the defending New England champions, having secured the title in previous seasons. Their performance at the New England Interscholastic Spirit Championships has been exemplary, showcasing their talent and hard work.
Coach Jenn’s stewardship of the cheerleading team has been instrumental in their success. When reflecting on this tremendous season, Coach Jenn states, “We worked so hard all season. Through every challenge, this team showed resilience, determination, and commitment. I am beyond proud of them for the growth and success they continue to have on and off the mat. I couldn’t be more excited for this talented group of student-athletes to share this success and represent our program, high school and town. Go Chargers!”
