About 100 people attended a Veterans Day ceremony next to Ansonia City Hall on Friday.
The city honored veterans who have served and protected the country — including Patrick Henri, an Ansonia resident who is currently serving in Afghanistan.
The event was hosted by the city and the American Legion Post 50.
Among the participants in the event were the St. Peter and St. Paul War Veterans firing squad, the Joseph A. Doyle Senior Center chorus, Mayor James T. Della Volpe, members of the American Legion Post 50 and students from Ansonia schools who spoke about what Veterans Day means to them.
