Ansonia Man Charged With Promoting Prostitution

SHELTON – Police said they arrested a 28-year-old Ansonia resident at a Bridgeport Avenue hotel for promoting prostitution.

Daqwon Graham was charged Feb. 21 with second-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree threatening, and third-degree promoting prostitution.

According to a prepared statement from Shelton detectives, Graham took a woman from a hotel in New London and drove her to a hotel in Shelton against her will.

Police received a complaint at about 2 a.m. and interviewed Graham and the victim, who told police she was threatened by Graham.

Police said Graham had rented a room in the hotel, which adult escort services were believed to have been occurring in,” according to detectives.

Graham posted a $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Milford on March 15.
