Ansonia Man Completes 25-Mile Bike Ride For MS

Ansonia resident Matt Carlson rode his bicycle 25 miles in the 2012 Bike MS: Red Thread+Steelcase Ride in Windsor June 3.

Carlson, who works for Marcum Accountants and Advisors in New Haven, rode on the Bike-Furcated Instruments fundraising team, which to date has raised almost $2,600.

Funds raised through chapter events, such as Bike MS, ensure ongoing scientific research to find a cure for multiple sclerosis, a potentially debilitating disease.

Funds also provide for vital programs and services offered by the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter, to the more than 6,000 residents in the state living with multiple sclerosis.

More than 950 cyclists saddled up for Sunday, June 3, to raise approximately $435,000 toward a $500,000 goal.

Fundraising for prizes continues through July 29. For more information on Bike MS: Red Thread+Steelcase Ride, presented by Louis Dreyfus Commodities, or to donate to Matt Carlson or the Bike-Furcated Instruments fundraising team, visit www.ctfightsMS.org.
