An Ansonia man faces multiple charges after police said they found 51 bags of crack cocaine in his car.
Derby police said they pulled over Marquice Rumley, 20, on Seymour Avenue just before 9 p.m. Feb. 7.
“The officer observed what he called suspicious activity involving the vehicle, so therefore he made a motor vehicle stop,” said Derby police spokesman Lt. Sal Frosceno.
Police determined Rumley was driving without a license. Before impounding the vehicle, cops searched Rumley’s car, where they found the crack cocaine.
Rumley is charged with driving without a license, illegal possession of cocaine, illegal possession with intent to sell, illegal possession near a school and illegal possession with intent to sell near a school.
The Irving School and the St. Michael-St. Mary school are in the area where Rumley was charged.
Rumley is free on a $25,000 bond pending an arraignment scheduled in Superior Court in Derby on Feb. 16.
