KBE Building Corporation (KBE) has made a $1,000 donation to the City of Ansonia as part of its 2010, 50 Ways to Make a Difference program. The funds will help update the home-grown playground at the Ansonia Nature & Recreation Center.
“Every bit helps in this community project,” said Nature Center Director Donna Lindgren, “we truly appreciate the generosity that KBE.” The homegrown playground was originally built as a community effort. In that spirit, the Friends of the Ansonia Nature Center, along with the Garden Club, will identify areas that need to be addressed with the funding. Ansonia Public Works will provide the manpower for the project.
The 50 Ways to Make a Difference campaign allows KBE to lend a helping hand to people and organizations in the communities where the firm works and lives. KBE began the program last year in celebration of its 50th year in business. Like last year’s program, “50 Ways” will focus on community outreach projects that KBE will support either through monetary donations and/or volunteer efforts.
Last year KBE, its employees and friends contributed more than $100,000 in contributions and in-kind services in support of the 50 Ways to Make A Difference program. Etzel says interest in the program from the community has been high and that the firm has no shortage of projects to choose from.
