UPDATE 6:30 P.M.: Ansonia police said a teen reported missing Monday was found Tuesday (July 15) and reunited with her family.
“She has been returned to her home,” Lt. Andrew Cota wrote in an email. ​“Case is closed. No criminal aspect. She was located at a friend’s house in Bridgeport.”

Ansonia police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 14-year-old girl who has not been seen since Monday (July 14).
In a prepared statement, Lt. Andrew Cota said Maria Romero was last seen by her mother at her Beaver Street home about 5:45 p.m. Monday.
Police received a call about 8:15 p.m. Monday reporting the girl had run away.
Maria is 5 feet, 4 inches tall, 130 pounds, and has brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans (stone-washed with cuts), sneakers, and black glasses.
She may be with friends in Ansonia, Cota said.
