
ANSONIA — The following is a partial list of calls for service placed by people to the Ansonia Police Department.
The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.
Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors; the names of victims; or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we try to track the case.
Keep in mind the police blotter is not just a list of people arrested. It’s includes the reasons why people were calling police for assistance, which can give the public a better idea of happenings in the community.

April 7, 2025
9:11 a.m. — Police were sent to a crash on Olson Drive.
10:49 a.m. — A person came to the police department on Main Street to report a complaint regarding an animal.
1:21 p.m. — Police received a shoplifting complaint from West Main Street.
3:18 p.m. — Police received a 911 hangup call from Wakelee Avenue.
4:40 p.m. — Police received a report of a drunk person near West Main Street and Bridge Street.
4:58 p.m. — Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle on Orchard Street.
5:27 p.m. — Police received a report of suspicious activity on North State Street.

6:16 a.m. — Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Main Street.
6:23 a.m. — Police responded to a crash on Pershing Drive.
6:45 a.m. — Police received an illegal parking complaint on Grove and Lester streets.

3:08 p.m. — Police received a report of a car crash where one of the vehicles left the scene on Mott Street.
