ANSONIA – Here are some highlights from the Ansonia Police Department’s calls for service.
It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.

Ansonia police received 380 calls for service and made five arrests between Feb. 3 and Feb. 9.
During the parking ban over the weekend, police received 59 reports of illegal parking.
Monday, Feb. 3, 2025
12:08 a.m. Police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Spring Street.
5:12 p.m. Police arrested a 44-year-old Bridgeport man on W. Main Street and charged him with sixth-degree larceny.
6:49 p.m. A caller reported disorderly conduct on Prospect Street.
Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025
5:10 a.m. Police responded to an animal complaint on Beaver Street.
3:03 p.m. A caller reported illegal parking on Main Street/Water Street.
6:44 p.m. A caller on W. Main Street reported theft from a building.
Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025
6:15 a.m. Police were called to High Acres Road for a report of theft from a motor vehicle.
4:49 p.m. Police were alerted to hazardous road conditions on Beverly Drive.
6:02 p.m. Police arrested a 32-year-old Bridgeport man on Jewett Street and charged him with third-degree strangulation, assault, and disorderly conduct.

2:34 a.m. A caller reported an abandoned motor vehicle on Church Street and Howard Avenue.
12:08 p.m. Police responded to a report of loitering on Pershing Drive.
Friday, Feb. 7, 2025
8:11 a.m. A caller reported a disabled motor vehicle on Pulaski Highway.
10:23 a.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Maple Street and Olson Drive.
8:55 p.m. Police were called to a southbound Route 8 entrance to aid another agency.
Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025
12:27 p.m. Police were called to Main Street for a report of shoplifting.
4:09 p.m. A caller on W. Main Street reported trespassing.
5:34 p.m. Half an hour after the start of a citywide parking ban, police received their first report of illegal parking, on Fifth Street.
Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025
9:12 a.m. Police were called to Pleasant View Terrace for a report of disorderly conduct.
11:14 a.m. Police were alerted to a disabled motor vehicle on Bridge Street and Main Street.
11:44 a.m. Police receive their final illegal parking report during the citywide ban, on Elm Street.
