ANSONIA – Here are some highlights from the Ansonia Police Department’s calls for service. It’s a partial list of calls, pulled by The Valley Indy.
Ansonia police received 297 calls for service and made eight arrests between Jan. 27 and Feb. 2.
Monday, Jan. 27, 2025
7:43 a.m. Police were called to Howard Avenue for a report of an emotionally distressed person.
10:19 a.m. Police were called to W. Main Street for a report of shoplifting. They arrested a 32-year-old woman and charged her with larceny in the sixth degree.
3:38 p.m. Police were called to Division Street and Main Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident, but didn’t see one upon arriving.
Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025
2:41 a.m. Police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Father Salemi Drive.
3:54 p.m. A caller reported illegal parking on Clark Street and Woodbridge Avenue.
5:48 p.m. Police arrested a 25-year-old woman and charged her with disorderly conduct, assault in the third degree, and threatening in the second degree.

10:37 a.m. A caller reported people loitering on Main Street.
11:01 a.m. Fallen utility wires were reported on Prindle Avenue.
7:58 p.m. A caller on Lester Street reported suspicious activity.
Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025
3:50 a.m. A 34-year-old New Haven man was arrested on Rockwood Avenue and charged with criminal trespass in the first degree and disorderly conduct.
5:30 a.m. Police were called to Beaver Street for a report of disorderly conduct. The incident turned out to involve an emotionally distressed person.
7:33 a.m. Police were called back to Beaver Street for a separate report of a juvenile matter. This was also determined to involve an emotionally distressed person.
3:39 p.m. Police arrested a 32-year-old man on W. Main Street and charged him with larceny in the sixth degree.
Friday, Jan. 31, 2025
11:06 a.m. A caller reported an outside fire burning on N. Cliff Street. No report was filed for the incident.
5:39 p.m. Police were dispatched to Main Street for a civil matter.
7:35 p.m. A caller on N. Main Street reported trespassing.
Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025
12:52 a.m. Police responded to a report of disorderly conduct on Fourth Street, which they determined to be an incident of drunkenness.
1:23 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Pershing Drive.
2:40 p.m. Police arrested a 53-year-old woman on W. Main Street and charged her with larceny in the sixth degree.
Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025
1:20 p.m. Police arrested a 71-year-old woman on Beaver Street and charged her with disorderly conduct, negligent storage of a firearm, and threatening in the second degree.
3:23 p.m. A caller on James Street lodged a wildlife complaint.
10:55 p.m. A caller reported illegal parking on Judson Place and Myrtle Avenue.
