ANSONIA – Police arrested a Bridgeport man June 5, accusing him of repeatedly stalking an ex-girlfriend and skipping court for months.
Hippolito Rodriguez, 52, was charged with seven counts of violating a restraining order, seven counts of first-degree stalking, seven counts of second-degree harassment, three counts of first-degree trespassing, carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal use of a firearm, third-degree criminal mischief, and sixth-degree larceny. He was scheduled to be arraigned today (June 5).
Police said that Rodriguez’s arrest is in connection to six different incidents between January and April this year. He was first arrested May 28 by the U.S. Marshals and Bridgeport police on five other warrants for failing to appear in court, police said.
Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch said Rodriguez has been in custody since the May 28 arrest.
Rodriguez was previously convicted of criminal impersonation in 2023 and 2024, according to the state judicial website. He was convicted in 2023 of violating a protective order and first-degree trespassing.
He is being held on $1,225,000 in bonds, police said.
