Two people at 5 East St. in Ansonia were arrested on a series of drug charges Aug. 2.
According to a prepared statement from Ansonia police, officers raided the residence at 6 a.m. using a search and seizure warrant.
“This was a result of an ongoing narcotic investigation involving individuals who lived at the residence.In addition, police held arrest warrant for two individuals for narcotics violations,” police said in the statement.
The police search, which included the department’s Anti Crime Unit, uncovered about $1,700 in cash and an unspecified amount of crack cocaine and heroin.
Police had an arrest warrant for Latosha Delgiudice, 35, of 5 East St., who was in the residence at the time of the raid and taken into custody.
Dwight Jarvis, 23, of 5 East St., was also wanted on a warrant. He was apprehended at the residence as well.
Delgiudice was charged with:
- Four counts of illegal sales of narcotics
- Four counts of possession of narcotics
- Five counts of risk of injury
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of drug paraphernalia within 1500 feet of a daycare
- Possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a daycare
- Possession within 1,500 feet of a daycare with intent to sell
Her bonds totaled $210,000. She is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in Derby today (Friday, Aug. 3).
Jarvis was charged with:
- Three counts of illegal sales of narcotics
- Three counts of possession of narcotics
- Three counts of risk of injury
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a daycare
- Possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a daycare
- Possession within 1,500 feet of a daycare with intent to sell.
His bonds totaled $270,000 and he also scheduled to be arraigned today.
The risk of injury charges were lodged because there were three children present in the home at the time of the raid. In addition, police allege Delgiudice had children with her when she was previously observed selling drugs.
