Ansonia Police Trying To Link Arrested Men To Honda Thefts

Ansonia police arrested five men early Friday they say were stealing items out of parked cars near the Beaver Brook Apartments.

Police said they are now looking into whether the men may be connected to a string of Hondas stolen in the area recently.

The five men were arrested after police responded to a report of suspicious activity at the apartment complex about 12:40 a.m.

Police, in a prepared release, said responding officers located five males that were removing items from a vehicle parked in the lot.”

Subsequent investigation revealed the men had traveled to the parking lot to steal items from several parked vehicles, police said, and that several stolen items were recovered from two Hondas that were also parked in the lot.

The two Hondas being used by the suspects were towed from the scene, according to police, who said both Hondas were later found to have been reported stolen from Bridgeport and Stratford.

Additional arrests are expected, police said: The Ansonia Police Department’s Detective Bureau is investigating the incident to determine if these suspects are connected to a string of stolen Hondas that have occurred over the past several months.”
