Former Ansonia Charger Captain Joseph DeCiucis will be attending Milford Academy this coming fall under Coach Bill Chaplick, as a starting offensive lineman.
Standing at 6’2” 284 lbs., Joseph DeCiucis helped lead the Charger’s to their 20th State title under Coach Tom Brockett.
Coach Chaplick also played for the Ansonia Chargers in 1975 in the same position as Joseph — right tackle. He then went to Boston College where he was an standout center, and was then sought after by the New York Giants but his career was sadly taken away due to a neck injury suffered at Boston College. He then proceeded to coach the Ansonia Chargers as an assistant under the late great Jack Hunt.
After opening Milford Academy, he has had 38 players move on to the NFL including LeSean McCoy, Tyler Matakevich, Shonn Greene, and Terrance Knighten, just to name a few, not to mention his undefeated 11 – 0, 2016 football season.
Coach Chaplick has hired B.A.D. (Better Athletic Development) out of Shelton, CT, under the supervision of Kevin Gendron, as Joseph’s personal trainer, in order to get him in Milford Academy shape for the upcoming season.
