Ansonia Residents Honored By Retirement Community

CONTRIBUTEDThe Watermark Retirement Community announced that more than 41 of its employees in Bridgeport were recently recognized for their outstanding work through the retirement community’s annual Thrive Awards.”

Those honored include Ansonia residents Melissa Abate and Helen Harris.

The awards are given to associates from Watermark’s 38 communities nationwide who exemplify the company’s vision of creating extraordinary communities where residents thrive.

At The Watermark, we pride ourselves on creating an environment where our residents continue to grow, develop and thrive,” said Executive Director and Thrive Award winner Kristin Butler. This dedication to our community and our residents could not have been done without the hard work of our employees and I am so proud to be able to recognize them for all of their tireless work.”

Thrive Award winners include Jennifer Rodriguez, Program Director, who received Rookie of the Year and Melissa Abate, SNF Business Office Manager who was honored with a Director of the Year award.

Chef Michael Stevens also took home a Thrive Award for his work with Watermark University, a continuing program and education program designed to keep seniors’ minds and bodies fit.

Tina Benevides, Café Manager, was recognized with the Seth Machak Champion Award, given out each year in honor of an employee at The Watermark’s sister community in Southbury who passed away in 2013.
