ANSONIA ROTARY RECOGNIZES OUTSTANDING FIRST RESPONDERS

ANSONIA — State Representative Kara Rochelle and Ansonia Club President Joe Pinto recently presented citations and medals to Fire Captain Michael Eheman, Police Officer John Cannizzio, and ARMS EMT Anthony Mancini.

The occasion at the Ansonia Armory was the Rotary Club’s 20th annual Community Service Awards. Also speaking was Mayor David Cassetti, who complimented the officers on their dedication and thanked them for their service to the City.

Each of the three front-line City departments were asked to identify their top performers during the past year. The theme of selflessness, role-modeling and consistent excellence were the criteria for commendation. Each department chief spoke about the exemplary work of their honoree, and how their contributions made their department stronger. The Rotary Club thanks all of Ansonia’s first responders for their commitment to professionalism.

The Ansonia Rotary Club meets bi-monthly at the Uptown Bar & Eatery on Tuesdays at 12:00 PM. Call Joe Pinto for more information, 203 – 623-1105.
