Ansonia Schools Announce Food Pickup Spots Starting Wednesday

ANSONIA — Ansonia Public Schools announced arrangements for families to pick up food for students as the schools are closed during the COVID-19 public health emergency.

In a letter, Superintendent Joseph DiBacco noted all schools in the state are closed through at least March 31. That’s from an executive order enacted Sunday by Gov. Ned Lamont.

DiBacco then announced that starting Wednesday (March 18) students between the ages of 5 and 18 or their parents/guardians will be able to pick up food from school bus stops. School buses will be making the drops. The bus drivers will begin making their way to the stops starting at 11 a.m.

The superintendent urged people to remember the social distancing techniques we’re all learning this week as communities try to spread the transmission of COVID-19. Read his complete letter here.
