ANSONIA — The City of Ansonia has scheduled a public hearing for 7 p.m. on four borrowing questions that could be included on a future referendum.
Click the play button on the video below to watch me talk about the meeting during a live broadcast Monday on The Valley Indy Facebook page.
The Ansonia public hearing will be held online, using ZOOM video conferencing software.

There are four borrowing items up for discussion. Click this link for more information.
1. Should the city borrow $3.1 million more for the new police station project under construction on Main Street?
2. Should the city borrow $1.5 million for road improvements?
3. Should the city borrow $300,000 for “firefighting improvements?”
4. Should the city borrow $100,000 for a recreational fields and facility study?

In a Facebook post Saturday, Alderman Tarek Raslan raised a number of questions about the bonding, saying that he and fellow Democrats on the board didn’t know the public hearing was coming.
In the video above, I read Raslan’s statement, then a statement from Ansonia Corporation Counsel John Marini in response.
