Ansonia To Celebrate National Day Of Prayer

As our communities struggle to deal with the challenges of recent events, it is important to remember that true hope lies in humbly seeking God’s guidance, protection and blessing.

Valley residents are invited to answer the call of prayer on Thursday, May 2 in observance of the 62nd annual National Day of Prayer at 6 p.m. at the Ansonia Veteran’s Memorial Park, located next to Ansonia City Hall at 253 Main St.

The National Day of Prayer affords residents the opportunity to join together to pray for our country, cities, our service men and women (fire, police and military) and our people.

President Harry Truman designated the first National Day of Prayer in 1952. The event was designated for the first Thursday in May by President Ronald Reagan. We are extremely happy to continue this national celebration and expression of the Judeo-Christian faith here in Ansonia.
