The Ansonia Coppers Cheerleaders took the mats by storm at Colonial League’s 2012 Local Cheer Competition this past Saturday (Oct. 20) at New Milford High School.
Ansonia’s Division 8, Division 12, and Division 13 cheer teams participated in competitive cheer; and their Mitey Mites took the mats to exhibit the routine they have been working on all season.
In the end, all of Ansonia’s competitive teams took first place in their respective divisions. The Division 12 cheerleaders took first place and were named grand champions for the second session of competition Saturday afternoon.
All of the Ansonia cheerleaders that competed Saturday are now eligible to compete at State and Regional levels. The State Competition will be held at Shelton High School Nov. 10. Regional Competition will be held Nov. 24 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI.
