
Here are some data points from the latest COVID-19 related public information release from the Naugatuck Valley Health District.
- Six more people have died “laboratory-confirmed COVI-19 associated deaths” as of 6 p.m. April 28.
- The six people who died were residents of nursing homes in Shelton (five people) and Seymour (one person).
- 989 people have tested positive for the virus in the NVHD’s region, which covers Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Naugatuck, Seymour and Shelton.
- 460 people have tested negative
A town-by-town breakdown of cases is shown below:

- Of the 989 people who have tested positive locally, 261 are residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes “or other similar setting.”
- Of the 261 residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes “or other similar setting,” 93 have died (35 percent of 261 people).
