A parent message was sent Wednesday to parents/guardians of Ansonia Public School students:
“Good afternoon parents and guardians,
We have learned from colleagues in school districts to the north that a scamming operation has been uncovered of which you should be aware.
Apparently, scammers are knocking on residence doors in the community, trying to sell educational programming they say is “endorsed by the school district.” They have even gone so far as to ask residents to point out the homes of other people with children.
Please know the Ansonia Public Schools does not sell, or authorize anyone to sell on our behalf, any curriculum or educational materials of any kind.
Should someone come to your door with such a sales pitch, say ‘no’ and call the police.
Thank you and stay safe.”
