Armed Robbery At Shelton Gas Station

A man armed with a gun robbed the Shell gas station on Bridgeport Avenue Saturday, according to police.

About 10 p.m. police were sent to the gas station, at 99 Bridgeport Ave., on a report of an armed robbery, according to a press release issued by police Monday morning.

The employee at the station told police that a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and a black cloth covering his face entered the store and went to the register.

The man then displayed a gun and demanded money, according to police, and left with an undetermined amount of cash.

The employee was not injured, police said, and no one else was in the store at the time.

Detectives responded to the scene and are currently investigating the incident. Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said Monday morning that police are in the process of retrieving footage from the store’s surveillance system.

Police ask anyone with any information to call the Detective Bureau at (203) 924‑1544.
