Auditions March 29 For ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ In Shelton

Valley Shakespeare Festival will hold auditions for its summer production of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING on Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shelton Community Center, 41 Church St.

Three performances of the play will be presented in Shelton’s Veterans’ Memorial Park at 8 p.m. on July 10, 11 and 12.

Rehearsals begin on Monday, June 23 and will continue through the last performance.

Anyone interested in auditioning for a role in the production should come prepared to read and bring along their portfolio, including headshot and resume, if available.

All levels of performers are welcome; no prior stage experience is required.

Valley Shakespeare Festival is a non-profit, fiscally sponsored organization dedicated to bringing free theater to the communities of the lower Naugatuck Valley.

Please NOTE we are looking for performers who have experience with First Folio text, and are adept at comedy for this fast-paced show. ALSO are looking for actors who can play instruments and will be looking strongly at special skills.

Please PREPARE: Please prepare two 1 – 2 minute contrasting monologues (Classical preferred), and be prepared to sing 16 bars unaccompanied and cold-read from script. Please bring pic/resume, stapled together.

Production Dates:

1st Rehearsal: Monday, June 23, 2014

Rehearsals run Monday-Saturday from 9:00am‑5:00pm

1st Tech Rehearsal: Monday, July, 7

Performances: Thursday, July 10-Saturday, July, 12, at 8 p.m. at the Riverwalk/Veterans Memorial Park in Shelton, CT

Rehearsals are in CT. Housing will be available for out-of-town actors.
