State police detectives are investigating a suspicious death in Beacon Falls, according to a prepared statement issued about 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
While calling the death suspicious, police said the investigation hasn’t turned up evidence of criminal activity, and that there is no danger to the public.
Police were sent to 317 Burton Road in Beacon Falls Friday at about 4:30 p.m. for a drowning.
John Kautzner, 47, of 317 Burton Road, was found in a brook on the property, according to state police.
Troopers tried to revive Kautzner and EMS personnel were called to the scene. He was pronounced dead by the EMS crew.
“The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) also reported to the scene and will assist in the investigation,” according to state police. “The OCME will conduct a post-mortem to determine cause and manner of death.”
