The teacher found the note — which “mentioned a bomb threat” — this morning, according to police spokesman Lt. Robert Kozlowsky.
The note was given to the headmaster, who contacted police. Students were evacuated from the building. Police and emergency personnel were still at the school as of 2 p.m.
State police bomb-sniffing dogs are searching the area.
After-school activities, including night classes, are canceled.
“For investigative purposes, the specific content of the note will not be released,” police said.
