Bridgeport Woman Accused Of Assaulting Man In Ansonia

A Bridgeport woman is accused of slashing her boyfriend’s arm then running over another woman’s foot with a car.

According to Ansonia police, officers were sent to a Pershing Drive residence at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, after receiving a report of a stabbing in connection to a domestic dispute.

Police were told that a woman, later identified as Damaris Torres, 40, arrived at the residence in search of her boyfriend. She allegedly kicked a door, damaging it.

The man and the woman then got into a heated argument outside the residence. Police said Torres cut the man on his right arm with some sort of sharp instrument.”

As Torres left the scene, she ran over another woman’s foot, police said.

The man, whose name was not released, was treated for his injury at Griffin Hospital and released later that day.

Torres was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor, first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and breach of peace.

She picked up the risk of injury charge because there was a young person inside the residence, police said.

Torres was scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in Derby Monday (Aug. 13).
