Shelton has been a buzz with development in the last 5 years or so. Recently there has been a lot of concern from voters about the recent application for a Burlesque cafe in Shelton off of Bridgeport Avenue.
This is just the latest of development projects that Shelton residence just don’t want. Last year it was the Shelter Ridge development that sparked a political movement in Shelton, and has lead to protests and ongoing court battles.
The only thing that seems to be on the minds of the Republicans in power seems to be Shelton’s bottom line, and furthering the interests of the mayor. They don’t seem to care, when their own constituents tell them that they do not want these types of developments in their town.
My fellow Democrats and I are running a campaign of open government and smart development, We will listen to voters, and will be their advocate in our city. Voters in Shelton feel ignored and disenfranchised by a Republican controlled government that does not listen. We need to make them listen, by bringing change to city hall.
Vote Row A on November 7th, lets move Shelton forward together.
