The Derby Historical Society will be holding two major events this week.
Our Annual Reception, Dinner with David Humphreys, will start at 5 PM at Grassy Hill Lodge on Monday the 23rd. Our special guest will be Col. David Humphreys, as portrayed by historical re-enactor David Loda, and his horse, Huckleberry.
This promises to be an unforgettable event! If you have purchased your tickets already, we’ll see you there! If not, we will also be selling them at the door for a minimal donation of $40 per person.
Refreshments will be served.
On Friday, Nov. 27, the Historical Society will host its popular Churches by Lantern Tour. Seating will start at Immanuel-St. James Church on Derby Green (the stone church with the red door), and by the light of punched tin lanterns we will visit Derby Methodist, St. Mary’s, and Second Congregational Church, ending with the tree lighting on Derby Green.
Tickets are $10.
Other events are scheduled after this week. Check our website for further information.
