Shelton police know a car crashed into an appliance store early Saturday morning.
But exactly how — and what happened leading up to the crash — is still an open subject.
Two people were sent to the hospital as a result of the accident but were treated and released for minor injuries, according to police.
Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said the crash occurred about 2:15 a.m. Saturday. Police were on the scene for about 75 minutes.
Kira Eisenman, 25, of Derby, told police she was driving west on Center Street through its intersection with Coram Avenue when a car driven by Lisa Crockett, 34, of Shelton, hit her and then crashed into the building that houses Jeff’s Appliance and Vacuums.
Kozlowsky said not all the reports concerning the accident have been compiled. Further details were not available.
“The accident is still open and under investigation,” he said.
While police were on the scene of the crash, Kozlowsky said a friend of Crockett’s, Travis Linebarger, 29, of Shelton, was cited for creating a public disturbance.
Linebarger wasn’t involved in the crash but arrived on the scene afterward and caused a disturbance, Kozlowsky said. There were no further details on the nature of the alleged disturbance.
