SEYMOUR — Police discovered a stolen car down a ravine near the intersection of Rimmon and Clinton roads Wednesday morning.
Police received a call about the vehicle at 9:29 a.m. reporting a vehicle off the road near a water way.
Initial radio reports indicated the vehicle may have been partially submerged in water, but that turned out to be wrong.
Police said the vehicle had been stolen from Stratford and dumped in Seymour. There was no one with the vehicle, which appeared to have been there for some time, police said in a written statement.
Stratford police and the vehicle’s owner were contacted and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
