Car With Gun Inside Stolen In Ansonia

A car with a gun inside it was stolen from downtown Ansonia Thursday morning.

The incident took place about 10 a.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Kingston Drive.

Ansonia Police Lt. Andrew Cota said a person left the vehicle, a gray Chrysler 300 with New York plates, running on the street and went inside a business, after which the car was stolen.

The firearm, a .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun, was in the console at the time.

There was no description of the suspect, or any further information available at this point, Cota said, including the direction the vehicle was traveling after it was stolen.
