SHELTON — Firefighters responding to an apartment fire in Derby came across a car flipped on its side and in flames on Route 8 Wednesday night.
According to a social media post from the Shelton Fire Department, units were on Route 8 north at 9:12 p.m. when they came upon the crash near exit 12.
The people were outside the burning vehicle. The post did not mention injuries or whether anyone was taken to the hospital.
“Crews extinguished the fire quickly, however the highway was closed for approximately three hours for clean up and investigation,” according to the post.
