Case Continued For Shelton Woman Accused Of Prostitution

The case against a Shelton woman accused of prostitution in March was continued Wednesday at Superior Court in Bridgeport.

Susan Cecere, 56, was one of five women charged in connection with a year-and-a-half investigation by Fairfield police into Deidra’s Health Salon, a Post Road massage parlor cops say was a front for prostitution.

Cecere has pleaded not guilty. On Wednesday, she was scheduled to appear at Superior Court in Bridgeport in the case — along with two other employees of the salon charged with prostitution — but the matters were instead continued to Aug. 8.

Cecere’s lawyer said last week he wants the case dismissed because the statute of limitations expired before her arrest.

The salon’s two owners will see felony charges of second-degree promoting prostitution dismissed in June 2014 if they successfully complete a pretrial diversionary program.
