The Post is located at 112 Derby Avenue in Derby, but Post Commander Tom Voytek said members from the surrounding communities are welcome, too.
“We have a great history in the Valley and would love to have more people come and find out about the good things the Post is doing on behalf of our veterans. It doesn’t have to be a huge time commitment, but every bit helps,” Voytek said.
St. Michael’s Post 1562, is located at 112 Derby Ave., Derby. The Post veterans and auxiliary members conduct monthly pasta dinners at the hall, offering an opportunity for fellowship and a delicious pasta meal for only $10. A patriotic essay contest is held each year for schoolchildren in the area, helping to offer students an opportunity to explore and learn about American history. “We have an exciting lineup of events this Fall that are a great opportunity to lend a hand and make new friends. We have something for everyone — educational programs for schoolchildren, supporting the Wreaths Across America program to honor fallen soldiers and those who still serve, and a Tunnel to Towers grassroots fundraiser are just a few of the activities we’re working on,” Voytek said.
