
SHELTON — Celebrate Shelton has announced its schedule of events for 2022, which includes the first time Food Trucks on the River has taken place since the pandemic.
Eager to get back to a full roster of in-person events, Celebrate Shelton creators Nicole Heriot-Mikula, Michael Skrtic, and Jimmy Tickey said, “We are excited to get back to providing high quality concerts, community gatherings, and seasonal events that improve arts engagement for the Shelton community.”
“We seek to provide low-to-no cost events that strengthen the ties within our community, bring families together, and promote cultural enrichment,” continued Heriot-Mikula, Skrtic, and Tickey.
Celebrate Shelton’s proceeds are donated to longstanding community partners: Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley and Adam’s House as well as other area nonprofits.

Celebrate Shelton’s first event of 2022 will be their popular Mamas & Mimosas on Saturday, May 7th from 10am — 3pm hosted by and in partnership with Adams House at 241 Coram Ave, Shelton. There will be over 30 artisan vendors, live music, bar & specialty drinks, beauty services, and wellness workshops. There is a $10 suggested donation at the door; tickets are not needed in advance. They encourage attendees to “celebrate all the women in your life — a mom, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, or friend!” Limited VIP tickets for additional services and perks are available at www.Facebook/celebrateshelton.
Food Trucks on the River will be held on Saturday, June 18th from 11am ‑6pm at Veterans Memorial Park with live music, children’s activities, craft beer garden and all of your favorite food trucks. This marks the first time the event has been held since 2019, which attracted 5,000 attendees. There is a suggested $5 donation at the gate.
Downtown Sounds Summer Concerts will be held again for 3 consecutive Fridays starting at 5pm: July 22nd, July 29th, and August 5th taking place at Veterans Memorial Park. Bringing over 1,000 attendees per week, these evenings are family-friendly, with sought-after regional and national musicians, incredible food trucks, a beer garden and artisan vendors. Kids Hour kicks off each week at 5:30pm. Bring chairs and blankets for you and your family and enjoy an evening out. There is a suggested $5 donation at the gate.
Downtown Sounds Fall Edition will be held on Saturday, October 8th from 12pm-6pm at Veterans Memorial Park with live music, artisan vendors, fall activities for kids and families along with a beer garden. There is a suggested $5 donation at the gate.
Celebrate Shelton will continue to host their 9th Annual Community Tree Lighting under the Derby Shelton Rotary Pavilion, this year taking place on Friday, December 2nd at 5:30pm featuring a small local market, bonfires, horse drawn carriages, community performances and of course, Santa Claus.
