Due to the high probability of lightning and thunderstorms, tonight’s Downtown Sounds concert is postponed to August 4th — we will share more details when they become available! Our July 28th concert will go on as scheduled.
SHELTON — Celebrate Shelton is pleased to continue Downtown Sounds Summer Concerts at the Veterans Memorial Park this summer! The 9th Annual Downtown Sounds Summer Concerts presented by Celebrate Shelton and Liberty Bank will be held on Fridays — July 21st and July 28th — from 5:00pm — 9:30pm.
“We are thrilled to bring families together for the summer concert series again,” said Jimmy Tickey, co-creator of Celebrate Shelton.
“Celebrate Shelton was created out of the desire to be a positive force in the revitalization of Downtown Shelton and because we believe in the power of community. We are committed to playing a critical role in that effort. We are excited for this year’s lineup and concert series,” said Nicole Heriot-Mikula, co-creator of Celebrate Shelton.
“Gates open at 5:00pm and Kids Hour will follow with Tom Weber Music on Friday, July 21 and Bubble Show Plus on Friday, July 28! Then, at 6:30pm, we have an incredible musical line-up,” noted Michael Skrtic, co-creator of Celebrate Shelton. The line-up includes: Bella’s Bartok and Drop Party on Friday, July 21 and Glen David Andrews Band and The Funky Dawgz on Friday, July 28.
As in the past, Celebrate Shelton’s community partner for Downtown Sounds is the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley. The concerts are free to attend, with a suggested donation of $10 to sustain Celebrate Shelton’s efforts in the community.

Some of CT’s favorite food trucks will be joining in on the fun as well: CappuGino’s Coffee and Shakes, Fork In The Road, Reid’s BBQ, SweetNess Bites, Szabo’s Seafood, Texmex Fusion Food Truck, The Cinnabomb Mini-Donut Factory and Valley Jim’s Soft Serve. There will be craft beers from New Belgium, delicious wine from Love Lou, and canned spirits from Canteen. Silence is Golden Gallery will be doing flash tattoos on Friday, July 28th. “This year we have expanded our artisan shopping and you can support over 20 local vendors each week,” noted Heriot-Mikula, Skrtic and Tickey.
