'Celebrate Shelton' Releases 2023 Calendar Of Events

SHELTON — Celebrate Shelton has announced their calendar of events for 2023. Eager for a year of well-rounded events, Celebrate Shelton creators Nicole Heriot-Mikula, Michael Skrtic, and Jimmy Tickey said, We are excited to continue to provide high-quality concerts and seasonal events that strengthen ties within our community, bring together families and promote arts engagement.”

Celebrate Shelton’s first event of 2023 will be their popular Mamas & Mimosas on Saturday, May 6th from 10am — 3pm hosted by and in partnership with Adam’s House at 241 Coram Ave, Shelton. There will be 30+ artisan vendors, live music, specialty drinks, beauty services, and wellness workshops. There is a $10 suggested donation at the door; tickets are not needed in advance. They encourage attendees to celebrate all the women in your life — a mom, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, or friend! Food Trucks on the River will be held on both Friday, June 2nd from 5:00pm — 10:00pm and Saturday, June 3rd from 11:00am — 6:00pm at Veterans Memorial Park with live music, children’s activities including Roaming Railroad, craft beer garden and CT’s most delicious food trucks. Celebrate Shelton will continue to host the 3rd annual LGBTQ Pride Flag raising by the City of Shelton on Saturday, June 3rd.

Downtown Sounds Summer Concerts will be held on Fridays, July 21st and July 28th kicking off at 5:00pm with Kids Hour both weeks and taking place at Veterans Memorial Park. Bringing over 1,000 attendees per week, these evenings are family-friendly, with sought-after regional and national musicians, incredible food trucks, a beer garden and artisan vendors. Bring chairs and blankets for you and your family to enjoy an evening out! Lineup includes eclectic and joyous Bella’s Bartok and CT’s Drop Party on July 21; and New Orleans Crown Prince of Treme” charismatic Glen David Andrews and Bridgeport-based Funky Dawgz Brass Band.

Downtown Sounds Fall Edition will be held on Saturday, October 7th from 12pm-6pm at Veterans Memorial Park with live music, artisan vendors, a craft beer garden and fall activities for kids including Paint-A-Pumpkin and Roaming Railroad. The headliner is Connecticut’s favorite band, The Alpaca Gnomes.
Finally, Celebrate Shelton will continue to host their 10th Annual Community Tree Lighting under the Derby-Shelton Rotary Pavilion, this year taking place on Friday, December 1st at 5:30pm featuring a small local market, bonfires, and community performances. The tree lighting itself will be at 7:00pm, followed by a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
