The following press release was sent by Ansonia police Monday evening:
On 9/25/17 at about 6:00 A.M. there was a theft of a cell phone from an unlocked car at the Main Street Shell Station.
The owner of the car was only inside the station momentarily but the occupants of a brown Nissan Altima entered the victim’s car and stole his phone.
The Nissan was then seen at the Cumberland Farms on Pershing Drive a short time later but fled the scene at a high rate of speed when officers arrived.
The Ansonia Police Department would like to remind all residents to make sure they lock their cars and to never leave their cars running and unattended, either at home or when stopping at gas stations or convenience stores.
Anyone with information regarding the theft or the Nissan Altima is asked to call the Ansonia Police at 203 – 735-1885.
