“Hit the Greens for the Pink” charity golf tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, at Oxford Greens.
The event, which benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure, is open to all area golfers. The four-person scramble kicks off with an 8 a.m. shot gun start.
The registration fee is $130 and includes: greens fees, continental breakfast, unlimited range balls, longest drive and closest to the pin contests, and a post round BBQ with live entertainment. Awards will be given to the top men’s, women’s, and mixed teams. There will also be a raffle with great prizes including free rounds at area golf courses, restaurant gift certificates, a GPS system, tickets to area events and attractions, and more.
Hole sponsorships are also available. The fee per hole is $100 and includes signage on a given hole and at the post event BBQ.
Net proceeds generated from this event go to Susan G. Koman for the Cure through team “Hoofin’ it for Healthy Hooters” participating this July in the three-day/60 mile Koman breast cancer walk in Boston. The team is made up of Oxford residents, Tina Aldo, Jennifer Coan-Mahmood, Kelly Donohue, and Tara Gurecki. Each walker must raise a minimum of $2,300 in donations to participate in the walk. Funds from the Komen three-day events are invested in breast cancer research, education, and community outreach programs.
