Friday Dec. 11, the Derby Historical Society will host its first Churches by Lantern, Ansonia.
Seating will start at 5 p.m. at Christ Church, on 56 South Cliff Street, across from the Ansonia Public Library.
Three beautiful, landmark Ansonia churches decorated for the holidays, Christ Episcopal Church, the First Congregational Church of Ansonia, and the Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption will be visited.
Following the event refreshments will be served at Christ Church.
The format will be similar to the Churches by Lantern tours the Society has been conducting in Derby for several years.
A welcome, a brief history, and musical program will be given at each church.
Participants have the option of carrying a punched tin lantern for illumination.
Tickets are $10 per adult, $8 for children 5 to 15.
The event will be held rain or shine.
Advance tickets will be sold at the David Humphreys House, from Monday through Friday from 1 PM to 4 PM, and regular tickets will be sold at the door of Christ Church.
