Derby Cultural Commission Chairman Rich DiCarlo has announced that Derby’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and the Lighting of the Birmingham Green will take place on Friday November 26, 2010 with the festivities starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Green is located on Elizabeth Street across from the historic Sterling Opera House. The Derby Public Works Department under the guidance of Kelly Dunne has decorated the Green using a bucket truck with over 8,000 lights including the Christmas Tree lit by LED lights.
Local choirs will sing and there also will be the arrival of Santa on a fire truck.
