City/Town Clerk Laura Wabno announced Tom Hennick, the public education officer for the state’s Freedom of Information Commission, will hold a workshop on FOI matters on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
Wabno gave notice to all boards and commissions in Derby, along with recording secretaries and Derby department heads.
The public is also welcome to attend, Wabno told the Valley Indy.
“Tom will give an overview of the Freedom of Information Act and answer any questions that you might have concerning what Board, Commissions, Committees, Recording Secretaries and Department Heads must know,” Wabno said in a letter. “This will be a very informative meeting in which Mr. Hennick has donated his time and all are encouraged to attend.”
Wabno asked Derby employees and officials to let her know if they are coming by Friday, Oct. 5.
The workshop will be held in the Aldermanic Chambers on the second floor of Derby City Hall at 1 Elizabeth St.
