Computer Classes Offered At Plumb Memorial Library In Shelton

SHELTON — The Plumb Memorial Library at 65 Wooster Street in Shelton will be offering a special four-part series of computer classes beginning in March. The classes will be taught by Mike Ingber, Computer Consultant and owner of Upward Business Systems of Oxford. 

The first class is: Essential Computer Questions: Answers to a variety of typical questions about terminology, equipment, security and internet usage. For example, what is the Cloud, what is a Browser, what is an Operating System, what is Streaming, what is RAM, what is a Router, etc. It will be held on Tuesday, March 7th at 1:00pm in the lower level Meeting Room.

The second class will be: Staying Safe on Line and it will be held on March 14th at 1:00pm. The focus of this class is on the types of threats and scams that are out there, and how to avoid them while safely navigating your way around the web. 

The third class will cover the Cloud on March 21st at 1:00pm. Participants will learn exactly what the Cloud is and explore many examples of how we are all using it. We will discuss questions such as: What are the advantages of using the Cloud and Is the Cloud safe.

The fourth week will examine how to: Do More With Your Computers and it be held on March 28th at 1:00pm. In this class we will explore many capabilities that can really enhance the use you get from your computer, such as dictation, sticky notes, screen shots, maps, Quick Assist, emojis, and many more.

These classes are discussion classes and bringing questions are encouraged. It is not necessary to bring a computer or device to the classes.
