CONGRATS, OXFORD FOOTBALL

Let the celebration begin!

For the first time in its brief varsity football history, the Oxford Wolverines are finally in the win column. Oxford recorded its first victory on Thursday, beating Notre Dame-Fairfield 20 – 6 at Sacred Heart University.

The triumph was long sought by the players on the second-year program. Many of this year’s team were members of the 2008 squad that finished with an 0 – 11 record.

Head Coach Joe Stochmal said prior to the game that he was confident these Wolverines would fare better than last year’s squad, which lacked the size and senior leadership of its opponents.

The Wolverines’ next game is next Friday against Masuk.
