Theresa Conroy’s campaign for state representative announced that the Connecticut Chapter of the National Organization for Women (CT NOW) has endorsed her in the 105th district race.
“I’m proud to receive the endorsement of CT NOW. Issues of gender equity, from reproductive healthcare to family leave, affect everyone and should be a priority in the legislature,” Theresa Conroy said. “We must remove the unfair obstacles that women still face in employment, parenting, and education. If re-elected, I will continue to advocate for legislation that ensures that Connecticut women have every opportunity for success.”
“Issues at the core of today’s women’s movement — issues like reproductive rights, gender equality, family leave, access to education and equal pay — aren’t just women’s issues. They’re human issues,” said CT NOW President Cindy Wolfe Boynton. “They’re also issues that Connecticut state senators and representatives will likely face in the very near future, and that are at the core of what NOW is all about. Connecticut NOW is committed to helping elect officials who are equally committed to the advancement of women’s and human rights.”
CT NOW endorses candidates based on their views on issues including reproductive rights and justice, economic justice, ending violence against women, racial justice, LGBT rights, and Constitutional equality.
