Court Case Continued in Ansonia Fatal Stabbing

Tiffany Perry, who is accused of fatally stabbing a woman last June at the Riverside Apartment complex in Ansonia, will appear again at Superior Court in Milford on June 29.

Perry, 27, had a court hearing scheduled Wednesday morning, but her case was continued without any appearance.

Perry’s attorney, Richard Silverstein, is trying to work out a plea deal for Perry, according to a May 1 article in the New Haven Register.

However, details about that deal were not available in Perry’s court file, and weren’t discussed Wednesday.

Silverstein did not return calls for comment.

Perry was charged with murder on June 21, 2009.

Police said Perry stabbed Jennifer Lewis, 22, on a balcony of the housing complex.

When police arrived on scene, they found Lewis lying on the second-floor landing, bleeding from her chest. She was later pronounced dead at Griffin Hospital.

According to court documents, witnesses told police that Perry and Lewis had gotten into a verbal argument prior to the stabbing.

Since her arrest, Perry has been held at York Correctional Institute in Niantic, with a bond set at $750,000.
