A head-on crash on Route 67 Friday morning sent two people to the hospital.
Police said Katelyn Mandrona, 20, of Milford, was driving a 1999 Ford Contour east at about 7:45 a.m. when she crossed the double yellow line and struck a 2000 Jeep Wrangler being driven by Shay Neal, 35, of Bethany.
Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to get Mandrona out of her vehicle. She suffered serious injuries, police said, and was taken to Waterbury Hospital.
The hospital listed her as in stable condition as of 2 p.m.
Neal was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
The crash happened near Silvermine Road.
Route 67 was closed for about an hour after the crash.
The incident remains under investigation, police spokesman Lt. Paul Satkowski said.
