Crave To Host First Cinco De Mayo Festival In Ansonia

The Ansonia Board of Aldermen last week said it would let a popular downtown restaurant host a Cindo De Mayo party in a city parking lot on Main Street.

Crave restaurant plans to host the celebration on Saturday May 5, starting at noon.

Owner Libby Meissner said the party is a way to make Ansonia a little bit more culturally diverse.”

Meissner needed city permission to use the senior center parking lot on Main Street, located next to Crave’s building at 102 Main St.

Meissner said the event is something she has wanted to do since Crave opened five years ago.

I’m hopeful its success will become an anticipated annual event for downtown Ansonia,” she said.

The event will include two Latin bands, a raffle, food and beverages. Admission is free. Food and beverages can be purchased at the event.
