ANSONIA-SEYMOUR — A businessman connected to efforts to revitalize downtown Ansonia has been charged with failing to pay wages for five years, The Connecticut Post reported. Click here to read the story.

Michael Marcinek, a Seymour resident, was arrested May 1, according to the Post, citing an arrest warrant.

Marcinek’s problems with the state Department of Labor started when he was in charge of Fletcher Thompson Inc., an architecture firm that moved from Bridgeport to Ansonia. Employees accused him of failing to pay. He was eventually sued by the state, but law enforcement says he never paid the money owed.

Marcinek’s AEPMI — the consulting firm he branded after Fletchter Thompson — has been getting a lot of work in Ansonia, where old factories are being redeveloped as housing.

He was also on the Seymour committee to decide whether to renovate the town’s community center or find a new location for it.

Marcinek is scheduled to appear in Superior Court on July 1 in Derby.
